CabLog help guide

How to use CabLog.

The complete routine in plain English: set it up once, save each day, check the week and keep a backup.

Remember thisSave the shift, complete the diary, then check the week. Export a backup every week because your records stay on your device.

1. Set up your pay

Open Settings. Enter your basic and overtime rates, normal hours, allowances and whether breaks are paid. Press Save all settings. You normally only need to do this once, then update it when your pay changes.

2. Save the shift

Open Today. Check the date, choose the employer and add the start time, finish time and break. At the end of the day, copy the driving time and POA from the tachograph. Press Save shift.

For a holiday, day off or sick day, change the day type instead of entering work times.

3. Complete the diary

Open Diary and use the same date. Add the mileage, registration, places, trailers, customers and useful notes. Add expenses and receipt photographs when needed, then press Save diary entry.

4. Find and check work

Use Search to find saved days, customers, places or vehicles. Use Reports to review estimated hours, pay, mileage and expenses.

5. Treat Driver Rules as guidance

The Rules screen calculates personal indicators from the information entered. It cannot know about missing work or every rule and exemption. Use the tachograph, employer instructions and official records for driving decisions.

6. Finish the week

Check every day, download the weekly PDF if wanted, then press Finalise week. A finalised week can be reopened if something needs correcting.

7. Export a backup

Open Settings → Data → Export backup and save the JSON file somewhere safe. Do this every week and before clearing browser data or changing phones.

8. Move to a new phone

Export a backup on the old phone. Install CabLog on the new phone, choose Import backup in Settings and select the JSON file. Check the records before removing the old app.
